Well in hot places you can literally survive sleeping in a shack made of scrapmetal or a tarp and eating food off of trees or casually fishing. Cold places require a house, heat, domestic agriculture so naturally you need to be more industrious just to live. A homeless unemployed person in california has a better quality of life than a person living in a van in philly making 40k a year, but the latter would be considered priveleged

Yep. Finland even experimented with UBI and ended the program in less than a year, because they found that there wasn’t enough workers to support the people who were content with having basic income.
It was a complete failure. Their socialist policies can only exist because number one they have us to defend them with our military, and number two a solid capitalistic society to anchor them to.
