I’ve never lived through a war and never wanted to but ever day it seems to be that “war” may be the only logical answer at this point. Seriously, we must be the laughing stock of the whole world.

No there won’t be. Nobody wants to be the first to cross the line because they will be alone over there. Then majority of our side including Trump will denounce them as “not our side”.
No one wants to be demonized by their own side.
