States who voluntarily decided to join a union decided to leave the union and the fucking war criminals said nope, we will kill you and take your farms before we let that happen.
There were no good guys in the civil war except the soldiers who fought in it. Thinking they were dying for freedom only to be pawns for the rich in both North and South...
Southern States made their secession about slavery. The North only made it about slavery half way through cause Lincoln needed funds. Of course in the end we were all made slaves under the Federal Reserve Act of 1913...
Southern States made their secession about slavery.
No, the slavey issue was already solved, cf. The Corwin Amendment, Lincoln's First Inaugural Address. These two alone obliterate your argument. Further, read the articles of Secession: only 4 of the 13 states addressed slavery. Further, look at Virginia: they had, in March (???) voted to stay in the Union. It wasn't until Honest Abe violated their sovereignty that they changed course. Don't say that they all of a sudden started being pro-slave. .
Obliterate my argument? I'm not iunterested in "winning" an argument I am only interested in the truth. If this is not going to be a civilized discussion, but rather an immature game of who can stump the chump, then I'm not interested in talking with you.
I will point out that the Corwin Amendment protected slavery. Also, "only 4 of the 13 states" doesn't suddenly absolve the issue. Just one state making it about slavery makes the entire war about slavery. Yes other Federal stepping and oversights as well, but the fact that was an issue for even just one state and others still fought with them means the South fought to keep their slaves. You can make excuses all you want for them, but the sad fact is, there were no good guys in the end.
Today, however is more black and white. Now the secessionists, just want to be left the fuck alone.
Fuck Lincoln, Grant and Sherman. War criminals.

Sound familiar?
