Up by 4:30 to get prepped and then get to work (you had to show up early, being less than 30 minutes early meant you were late), usually not let off work until 6. During autumn and the winter we would regularly wake up and go to work when it was dark and then wouldn't get off until it was dark. And again this was while in garrison, not even speaking of deployments when you're literally on duty 24/7/365

The recruiter's office hounded my parents and threatened me with arrest if I wouldn't come to their office. When I got there, they immediately ordered me to fill out enlistment paperwork. I refused, and they then said I would be "free to go" if I would sign some sort of "deferred enlistment" scam that would require me to report for boot camp after 6 months to settle my affairs. In the process, the recruiter took a batch of Polaroid pictures of obviously-underaged girls working an overseas strip club lap-dancing drunken soldiers, telling me those girls were 14. When I questioned the legality of their possession and "promotional use" of child-porn, he became very triggered and called in an assistant. At some point, I caught him not guarding the door and made a run for it. I wish I had video of that, those two fat-asses chasing me out of the building pounding on my car-window on a city street, looking that the evil dickheads they are.

I've had a ton of friends that were in the military and several of them were even recruiters and not a damn thing you said sounds like anything I've ever heard before....
