There were also other issues with Everglades reclamation projects. The inbreeds on this site don't seem to realize that Florida is heavily dependent on its natural resources, and Floridians care about them especially after the oil spill, and the lethal algae bloom problems basically were blamed on Republicans. I think most voters were believing that an "environmentalist Democrat" would be more likely to put their boot to BigAg than a Republican.
FL is like a beautiful tropical paradise in many ways. I enjoy the city parks, county parks, state parks, the beaches with the ocean. I can understand those living out in the midwest etc having a different view when they don't get to see the beauties of nature on a daily basis the same way us in FL can.
At the park closest to me, it's common to see gators hang around a dock there but they just chill and never bother anyone. It's just nature to be enjoyed and shared.
