One thing I appreciate about Chomsky is that he is a free speech absolutist.

There are only really two positions. Free speech absolutism or censorship.

Modern leftists seem unable to grasp the concept of slippery slopes (or they'll disingenuously claim that the concept doesn't exist). So, they'll draw a line between, say, "acceptable speech" and Holocaust denial -- but as we've all seen, that "line" has a way of moving. Look at Twitter: first "white supremacists" were banned, then "conspiracy theorists", then "covid deniers" and those alleging election fraud, then "right-wingers" generally speaking (plus maybe the random anarchists that aren't state-sponsored agitators), and so on. Where does it end? It doesn't. One restriction on speech will lead to a million.
