Seriously, we are headed for very hard times, your physical fitness will give you the best chance of survival. I'm not in nearly as good of shape as I was a couple years ago but I decided a few weeks ago I have to push myself as hard as I can so now I do my exercise until I'm sore, then rest and as soon as I feel recovered I'm right back out there again. I'm getting all kinds of minor injuries but that's a good thing because I want to get injured now and recover so that when shit really starts hitting the fan I'll be in as good of shape as possible.

Don't forget endurance training. I haven't taken a car to a grocery store in over 5 years.
Get yourself a backpack and maybe a carry behind cart or cooler and you'll get training several times a week just lugging all your groceries home.
I can walk with a backpack 3 hours with no need to sit - stop to drink or eat and I'm not in shape.
I'm sure it can get even better but all those people who think they can escape drama with a car may be in for a surprise when they are blocked into impassable roads by all the other cars trying to do the same thing.
My backpack has a slot for a baseball bat too - since it's made for baseball players.
