Noam Chomsky was the inspiration for naming a chimpanzie Nim Chimpsky in the 70s. Noam didnt think chimps could learn language and Nim’s guy thought they could, so he named this baby chimp after his rival. Turns out several yrs later when Nim was caged up that he still remembered how to signal his handlers that he wanted a “time to smoke weed” break. So, I guess that showed you, Mr Smarty Pants Chomsky.
