So. You ever hear on TV and Movies with the CIA talking about "assets" in reference to people? Apply that here, in this case. If a person is in any way associated with politics, be it an actual politician themselves, government employee (including judges), etc. Then you need to look at them as assets. They are to be used to meet your own personal objectives and beliefs and then cast them aside as their value diminishes. When the CIA does it, they'll off the asset. But that's definitely no what I'm referring to. Instead I'm suggesting that you cut that politician off from your support in all aspects and go on the offense to drive them out of office using socio/political means to do so.
In short, don't get personally invested in any politician. No matter how good they sound right now. They're not worth your emotional attachment. Cast them aside the first time they counter your beliefs. And yeah by following this rule you'll shit on some good people. But at this point the math works out far more in favor that you'll be shitting on a snake.
