Used to be, if you saw someone at work, school or outside a medical setting wearing a mask, you knew there was something wrong with them. They were being used the "right" way: an attempt to prevent healthy people from getting the germs of a really sick person if the sick person had to go out. They were not for healthy people to have to wear around each other.

Wife is a preschool teacher and just heard they're going back in-person but first have to go over all the mask-wearing propaganda to the kids and "have them understand why they have to wash hands all the time, and wear a mask". I suppose you're going to tell 3 and 4 year olds they can't sit next to their friends and have to stay at their desks with plexiglas boxes around them too? good luck.

It's disgusting. The BOE is requiring the parents to view these propaganda song-and dance videos with their kids to "normalize" wearing masks. This shit isn't ever going to end now. Even after "corona" is gone, they will just make mask wearing commonplace because of irrational fear of any other germs from common cold to flu or whatever else.

This is precisely why I'm wishing for the collapse to come asap. There's no recovering from this situation. It must be destroyed and rebuilt from the ground up.

There is no reason for any teacher to be this stupid or fearful. They are the ones who are supposed to teach your kids? start your own community homeschools. Teach your kids electronics, engineering, and programming, so they have a reason to want to learn math and science.

This is the unfortunate truth. The masks, as with so many other forms of degeneracy our society has latched on to, are a symptom of malaise due to being way too comfortable our entire lives.

In other words, people are wearing masks because they have nothing better to concern themselves with than a basically fake disease that isn't dangerous to healthy people. Idle hands may be the devils workshop, but idle minds are his fertile fields.

Only people with no skills and limited intellect wish for "the collapse"

Join your local precinct and actually do something instead of dooming on the internet.

You don't fix rot, you replace it. I fully support local efforts to secure the localities all the way up to the state level but that's a luxury that exists in places that are not stage-4 terminal deep blue states. Those of us woefully outnumbered must rely on the communities that can do so and the rest of us will do what we can under the circumstances. And yes, I fully support the collapse because I have the intellect to understand that society will never physically pay down the debts that currently exist, especially when they increase indefinitely. Something has to give out at some point, there are no free lunches.

The people calling for the collapse are usually the most useless people during an emergency.

"because I have the intellect" go tip your fedora somewhere else, doomer.

Ah yes, your insult of "doomer" has such a great track record on this site. Instead of listening to logic and preparing for the reality at hand you grasp at utopian solutions that keep failing in the real world. It's called being prepared, which you know, would actually be a good thing during an emergency? It's as if you think people can't walk and chew bubblegum at the same time. You can both want for the system that is corrupt to collapse and also want to prime the new system to replace it. Gosh, and I don't have intellect? All I can say is... best of luck to ya.

So what do you do to work in your local community?

Your original post was giving up all hope on making any change. Your attitude is useless.

Well for starters, I work in government. As I said, I'm doing what I can under the circumstances and working from within the system.

And my original post said "It must be destroyed and rebuilt from the ground up." I honestly don't think you can change the course things are on, you can only prepare for what's to come. Can that come across as doomerish? Sure. But, if you prepare yourself for what's to come then you'll be ready to apply that change while everyone else is running around like chickens with their heads cut off. And I can't help how someone reads my comments 🤷‍♂️ The web ain't that great at carrying subtle context in how something is spoken.

What needs to be destroyed exactly? The power grid? Congress blown up? What are your guys' actual plans

This "collapse" rhetoric is always wrapped in abstractions and never given any specifics.

Everyone should be armed and trained, that's a base level of preparation. Other than that this whole doomer talk only serves to discourage the less capable among us.

Either provide specifics, do something locally, or stfu with the useless emotions.

One thing you can do is when leaving a spot that requires a mask, take it off as soon as your out the door. Don't wear it as you pick up your order in a drive-thru. Be seen without it as much as possible. Monkey see, monkey do. Also, don't be like those you see driving in their car by themselves with mask on, walking or working outside with their masks on, etc. In fact, give them a dirty look as this is nothing but pathetic virtue signaling. If these virtue signaling sheep have been shepherded into this behavior, maybe a few dirty looks will help shepherd them back out of it.

Be like a disobedient pre-teen — fake donning, ‘improper’ wearing, dropping it and asking for a clean one, making them tell you 15 times and “comply” until they’re out of sight. Play the victim when they’ve ‘had enough’ — you are under NO obligation to tell the truth or be straightforward with petty tyrants, so make up excuses, pout, accuse them, throw a tantrum, whatever — just don’t refuse to leave and don’t touch anyone, and there’s nothing they can do.

INCREASE THE COST OF ENFORCING MASK MANDATES BEYOND WHAT THEY ARE WILLING TO BEAR, WITHOUT PUTTING YOURSELF AT RISK.

Wear a ripped up mask around town. When anyone comments on the mask being useless tell them it’s OK because two weeks is almost up. “One is good for 14 days, I wouldn’t want to be wasteful since healthcare workers need the PPE so bad.”

Is there a dot win for those who never wore a mask? And never believed any of this bullshit?

Yeah. This one.

Here’s a good collection of mask-science and argument/conversation resources for you:

Simply stop wearing a mask, let the ones who want to do so. Do not participate in the communist propaganda mask theater

I’ve been telling employees that ask I have a medical exemption. If they question further it’s ‘really none of your business’. That way I can walk around the store and the other shoppers don’t know the backstory, just that I’m maskless and no ones harassing me. Before taking that approach I got into a few arguments with employees...not sure it was an inspiring look for the other shoppers. If we’re trying to win people over it’s detrimental for them to think ‘every time I see someone without a mask, they’re getting kicked out. I don’t want to be that guy’. At some point they’ll start requiring literal papers to be shown, but this works for now.

Germs are a part of life, without them it's impossible to develope a strong immune system especially for young children.

Left to their own devices children will eat dirt and touch all sorts off groups shit and put their hand straight into their mouths. Why is that? Could it be that being exposed to germs is actually healthy?

Just purchased some mesh masks from Easy. Totally breathable and only to wear when I have to in stores. Wore one yesterday and got a couple of looks, but no one said anything. They aren't noticeable unless you look closely and when someone anything about it I'm simply going to say...don't worry I've been vaccinated and walk away. They are great I can breath normally.

When healthy people wear masks we prevent people with compromised immune systems identify threats in the community, like TB. Masks only belong on the sock for the sake of the sicker
