The paycheck supports the family. So unless harming the family or religion is apart of the job, no officer is going to jeopardize the pay check for a lower loyalty. This is true for you. It is true for me. Thus cops are loyal to those who directly sign their checks.

Trump has shown to hold an opposing but safe line. Not everyone can be everything, but holding those positions is important. Although, people need to move on from more than just Trump and start looking for or being other leaders.

The reality of the situation is that isn’t how it’ll work. You need to start now building local political action groups that get together to direct and foment protests and various other political activities. Stop thinking in the context of the second amendment. There are tons of civilly disobedient ways that are either wholly legal, or largely misdemeanor in nature.
The communication and networking needs to be there to mobilize people for protest and to apply pressure to officials long before any kind of violent uprising begins.

Except they took an oath to defend the constitution, they are oath breaking scum no matter how inconvenient it might be for them to uphold this oath.
