Three weeks ago, I was forcibly volunteered into contact tracing by a certain governor's emergency order. Naturally, im pissed enough already. Early this week, our supervisor informed us cases are going down and we'll probably disband before June. Then, like magic, "new, more virulent strains" are now a problem in San Francisco and now the end is nowhere in sight. Also, two weeks ago, COVID vaccination was considered sufficient to allow a close contact (i.e, someone who came into at least 15 minutes of <6' contact with an infected person) to not have to isolate. Today, even if you've gotten vaccinated and have either had the virus prior or are a close contact, you are only "protected" (i.e. no need to quarantine or isolate) for three months. Institutionally, this is the equivalent of saying people need to be vaccinated every 3 months. I'm here to tell you, this is here to stay. Its not going to end until we as a people are broken, IMO.
