Stopped by Costco in Independence, Missouri tonight to pick up a bag of coffee beans. Took my mask off as soon as I was 5' past the greeter (as I usually do), went straight over to the coffee section, snagged a bag of beans and proceeded to the self-checkout aisle. As I'm tendering out, a guy with a clipboard (we'll call him CovidMaskFaggot #1) comes up to me and says "You're going to need to put a mask on if you want to shop here," to which I replied "No, thank you." He says, "In that case I'm terminating this transaction" and SHUTS OFF THE MACHINE! I looked him in the eye and said "Would you please turn that on so that I can pay for my beans and be on my way?" and he says "Not without a mask on." I said "Why are you acting like such an asshole?" He immediately gets on the radio and calls for a manager. I said, "Yeah - get manager, I'd like to speak with him." CovidMaskFaggot#1 scurries off to intercept the manager who has emerged from the back office (we'll call him CovidMaskFaggot #2). I make my way over there and say "Hi! I'd like to pay for these beans, please." Without missing a beat CovidMaskFaggot #2 says "Were you abusive to CovidMaskFaggot #1?" I said "Not until CovidMaskFaggot #1 started acting like a piece of shit to me." CovidMaskFaggot #2 snags the beans out of my hand, says that abuse of their associates will "not be tolerated" and asks me to leave. So I calmly left. Called wife on the way home and proposed canceling our membership...but that I didn't need an answer right away, just think about it. We spend a lot of money there on groceries and I expense office supplies there for my employer (work for a very small business - boss is out-of-state). I can't in good conscience go on rewarding that kind of heavy-handed authoritarianism with my hard-earned money.

Menards in Grand rapids michigan wanted me to put on my mask or he would walk me out. Told him let's take a walk. Went to lowes and spent money there.
I make them call the cops. In texas, you can't be arrested for any misdemeanor with not wearing a mask as the predicate. Then you have 1: a video of them calling the cops on the customer without any arrest and 2: evidence for a lawsuit
