I've been trying to bring my family back together since Christmas which we cancelled to no avail. We've lost 2 family members in the last year, and 2 more have cancer. No one wants to reunite, even though we've been a pretty close family in the past. I'm ready to give up on caring about seeing them, because I'm too hurt and sad to continue caring.

Just show up. Nothing says "I love you" like being physically present. Be the trunk of the family tree if you have to. No regrets.
I agree with this. I live out of state to most of my family. At Christmas I just showed up and popped in house to house to house. Everyone was happy to see us. Sat down, had a wonderful time. Just go!
