Bread and Circuses counters hard times, the Romans found that out. Modern man is just too comfortable to ever be truly Strong.
If our only goal is survival then you might be right. We seem to have beaten that game. Food and shelter are solved problems in the first world, at least until oil becomes scarce.
We need a new challenge to harden ourselves against. Humans are not good at perpetual victory. We weren't made for it.
So then why are you here? Are you learning mandarin? How about Marxism? Might as well start preaching his teachings, right?

You need to take on more responsibility, you need to be that beacon of light locally, control and direct what you can. Bring together like minded people who all have a similar perspective. Clean your room.
