I suspect that the court itself has no ideological bent or preference for one party or the other. They are going to do what they guy holding a gun to their (or their families') heads tells them to do.

SCOTUS became SCROTUS after Scalia.

I suspect the only real difference between Trump and every other president this century is that, when they sat him down during his first day of office, showed him the Kennedy video and gave him "the talk", he responded defiantly, and he had the personal resources to survive that decision.

Consider the "secret service". We keep all presidents and their immediate families surrounded by an organized group of armed men at all times. For life. "For their protection". Right.
