Thousands of dollars. Two years waiting in my home country for my interview. Trip out of state for said interview. Another interview after I moved here and another year waiting so I could get a work's permit and a permanent resident card another year after that.
A few years invested and counting so I can one day become a citizen and vote. And when I picture myself going through the process it always comes to mind the moment when I will be able asked to DEFEND THIS COUNTRY'S SOVEREIGNTY AND BEAR ARMS ON BEHALF OF THE UNITED STATES WHEN REQUIRED.
