A percentage gets through. Nobody has ever seriously claimed otherwise. Some mask material is bound to obstruct some virus particles. The layers are there specifically so the masks can filter out particles smaller than the gaps between fibers in a single ply. Defense-in-depth. Now, the question of whether the benefit is worth the cost is a separate issue.
That's not true. Plenty of people wear masks of high quality to filter out all types of dangerous materials and viruses. You just have to use high quality ones with great filters and you can't use them for extended periods of time. They also have to seal completely and securely on your face. Plenty of professional industries rely on masks for protection.
Now these masks are different than the worthless surgical masks and tshirt masks that CDC and others are pushing you to wear.
Then prove it. This is totally incorrect. Surgical masks, or any of the masks people are wearing for that matter, were never designed to stop viruses. Go all the way back to the Spanish Flu pandemic. They pushed the mask propaganda back then, too, and turns out, they were full of shit. We have been wearing masks for the better part of a year. If they worked, this scamdemic would've been over long ago. Even workers wearing N95 masks way back when this started still caught it. If you want to be safe, wear the airtight suits they wear in level 4 bio labs. All this other shit is just a security blanket for the sheep.
Yeah, I have to agree. There's been no compelling evidence that anything short of a respirator with P-100 carts or a full suit will do anything to stop the transmission or contraction of this or any other virus.
Even if the coveted N95 worked (no conclusive evidence that they do) a virus with a 99.98% recovery rate doesn't warrant the use of PPE on healthy people to begin with.
Yep. Another thing is, one of the main reasons they say we need to wear masks is because supposedly, all these people can spread covid while being asymptomatic. Not sure I buy that, and I'm not sure there's even any science that backs that up. In fact, one huge study came out fairly recently showing that asymptomatic spread was basically a non-issue. I believe the study was from China, so take that for what's it worth, but it included something like 10 million people.
Also, I know this is anecdotal, and I'm only a sample of one, but I went out to lunch with a co-worker a few weeks ago. We drove in the same car (maskless), ate together at a restaurant maskless, and then drove back to work. Her kid tested positive later that day, then her and the rest of her family popped positive in the following days. Supposedly, covid is super contagious, and being spread when people don't feel sick, yet I never caught it. Yeah, it kills people, but so do a lot of things, including the flu. The has got to be one of the most overblown, over-exaggerated things in the history of our existence.
Your comment is bullshit, just like masks. If masks worked against viruses, why don't the CDC workers just put on two or three surgical masks when in the lab? Why bother with a clunky, airtight suit?
Masks don't do jack shit. Period. If you can breathe through them, that means air is getting through, and so is any virus.

It's like you didn't read my comment and you are replying to something I didn't say...
