Damn, deer here are rampant with CWD, havent taken one in two years.
Had a huge chest freezer a few years back, probably 600lbs of various meat and seafood. I left for work for a few months and nobody stays at my house when I'm gone. Compressor went out in the middle of summer so all of the meat rotted for who knows how long and turned into this fucked up rancid soup. I had to pail that shit out with a 5 gallon bucket until I was able to work the freezer out of the fucking garage. Cant bring myself to keep more than 100lbs of meat at a time anymore.
Sorry to hear that man, i dont know what i would do with my free time at the end of the year if i wasnt hunting Deer. That's the great thing about Texas and our Parks and Wildlife department, as well as the local ranchers and other hunters in the area. We cull our herds with extreme prejudice every year lol. I dont think ive seen any cases of CWD in over 5 years now.
4 freezers full of Deer and Feral Hog at my house. Ill be alright.
