We don't even need to flog them. Just disband the Teacher's Union and tell the teachers that they will be assessed on a performance level. This includes subject matter, expertise in the field being taught, pass ratio, and level of subjectivity. I can promise, you'd see resignations all over the place in a week. They don't want to be held to account for their performance. They just want to collect checks and go about their day dancing or going on vacations.
Make teachers be forced to the same requirements as other jobs. Weed out the trash
Unions protect everyone, especially those not doing their job like they are supposed to. Teamsters have made my job and benefits great, but a decent amount of people I work with need to go. I can only imagine what it's like in a blue state.
Yea. I see problems with unions, but honestly the pros outweigh the cons by far. I was just implying there are probably more people that need to go in blue states, but I'll admit I'm not in a blue state so I can't say for sure.

There are people at EVERY job that need to go. That's not even a union issue.
The benefit of the union is that if we end up with a diversity hire for a boss, we can't be fired because they don't like us.
