When I was in elementary school my parents were called and I was yanked out of class, because I had told some kids I couldn’t play with them anymore because we were getting Into trouble. The teacher automatically assumed that it was a race thing because the boys were black. She tried to force me to apologize to them in front of the class, but my parents weren’t having it. Mom ended up going off on the teacher because she had literally sent a note home with me the week prior to get signed, which explained why I had been getting into trouble and who I had been hanging out with. It was a shit show.
