They won't admit it, but leftists have come to realize that the only way their extreme social views (trannyism for example) can survive is via mass state intervention, censorship, and so forth. As Greenwald noted, they jump through hoops to find "ironic" ways to defend these measures, similarly to how they supported the military installation of Biden ("needed protection from fascists!" and so on). By this time next year, fuck, probably sooner, we'll unironically see "anarchists" publicly defending billionaires.
Seems like the left went down a bad road after Occupy was smashed. They never recuperated and instead fell headlong into the most insidious government/corporate psyops: identity politics, glorification of pornography, consoomer culture, and an aesthetic and performative pledge to fight only "fascism" as opposed to the more common and banal types of tyrannies.
Leftists made their own bed and now they're stuck defending the "benevolent dictatorship" they helped create. They could have allied with the growing populism that marked Trump's rise, but instead rejected it all on accounts of it being "right-wing." What an absolute colossal failure. Imagine how cool it would be to have citizens united against the elite: instead we have the right silenced and demonized and the left dropping their tranny OnlyFans links on Twitter.
