Biological men solidify their sexual orientation by adolescence. If you're not gay by 14~16, you likely won't be later.

Women are a bit more broad. There are many more women who are attracted to men and women (books like Sexual Fluidity discuss this), with a small subset who are attracted to only women and never gain attraction to men (butch lesbians).

Because of this basic biological difference in sexual preference, most MtF trans become lesbians. They want to be women, but their sexual orientation is directed by their biology.
