It used to be when an area had high unemployment it fell apart because folks couldn't afford to maintain the area and sustain themselves. Now we have literally millions of people and hundreds of cities where folks have no work, still get all their basic needs met, and they do literally nothing to maintain their area.

If someone paid all my basic bills, I'd have a pristine yard and no broken windows.
