Testosterone is not a "happiness" hormone (unlike neurotransmitters dopamine(reward)/serotonin(satisfaction)) it is the archetypical anabolic steroid. It will cause increased cortizol and stress levels in the body and high levels are shown to cause cardio-respiratory problems which is the #1 killer for men.

Testosterone is the exact opposite or cortisol. high cortisol is usually a problem when testosterone is low.

Chronic low test is far worse than slightly elevated levels on long term health.

Test also increases well being and energy levels which can make people dramatically happier. Check research into concussion induced low Test in soldiers etc and their turn around with correcting hormones.

It has direct effect on the nervous system and activation in the brain a long with a cascade of other effects.
