If he was wrong then the "expert" is no expert and his opinion should not be trusted. He later claimed that he said that so people wouldn't hoard them to make sure doctors didn't run out, in which case, he was lying, possibly endangering people and increasing the spread, and his opinion should not be trusted. In both cases, his opinion should not be trusted.
