That said our state has always had machines. NO paper record. The old machines required you to pull a lever to close the curtain and record the vote. They were mechanical.

We use walk-in electronic machines now that still have a curtain.

Much has made about blockchain being the way votes are cast in the future. The same folks are worried about EMP's.

What if BOTH systems were used in parallel? This way the 2 can be compared in an audit. It would make fraud very hard to conduct.

Basically voters would fill out a paper ballot, which would,get hand-counted. Then they would vote again via electronic block chain system. The two separate tallies should end up pretty darn close.
