i have been very angry over this. as many of you know, my guy has lung cancer. this week, after SIX months of misdiagnosis, tests, procedures, dr's visits, waiting for permission from the va for outside tests/procedures/dr's visits, plus all the issues of dealing w/ medical issues during The Time of Covid....he finally began treatment this week.
he was laid off initially, and went back to work in aug. when it came time to apply for fmla, he was told he didn't have enough hours. even tho' his normal work day is 10-14 hours, he was only given credit for 8. the company offered him 30 days (he needs 70), and will apply his sick leave/vacay time. he's been told he'll have a job, maybe not his job, tho'. and since we've watched other employees be demoted/pay check cut, we have no problem believing this will happen. my guy is a warrior with a hella work ethic; he's been loyal and hard-working and innovative for this co. for 4 years. he did not stop work until this week, and bc of mask edicts at work, he's had bacterial pneumonia twice on top of the cancer. still kept working, determined to work and save for me/us. so yeah, this makes me VERY angry.
sorry for wall o' text. it's been a difficult six months.
