I think that's exactly it. Internet usage in China for Chinese is heavily restricted and monitored. Those videos didn't come to us unless the Chinese government wanted them to.

India has trains that are literally so packed you can't sit down, and this is their main mode of transportation for almost the entire population. Daily trains like this over and over and over again.
Their population (general) is third world and simply don't get the message, and would be too poor to "just stop" going to work anyways. You simply wouldn't have stopped huge amounts of people piling up together there, you wouldn't. If the virus was going to spread fast and ravishly murder, it would have killed millions there almost instantly.
What bothers me is actual scientist / engineer types, people with degrees and whose jobs require sticking to the truth and reality or their produce simply doesn't work, can't just look at the facts and just say "ya that's just simply not true".

Grocery stores have been fully open the entire pandemic. At first there were NO MASKS in the stores during the large first part of the outbreak! Grocery workers should be trending with a higher infection and hospitalization rate than any other group. And they are not. Why? Also, homeless tent city populations are unaffected!
