I hate Harris more than Biden, but here’s the good news. When the GOP manages to take back one if not both houses of Congress after the 2022 midterms, they get a say in who the next VP is assuming Biden steps down. Any VP nomination must be cleared by both houses of Congress. A GOP majority in both houses could theoretically tell Harris they will accept no candidate except for President Trump.
Similarly, they’re in trouble if Biden resigns before the 2022 election. Harris cannot simultaneously be president and president of the senate (casting the tiebreaker), so a 50-50 vote on anything, including a VP nomination, automatically gets defeated in the Senate.
