There is no such thing as generations. People are being born and dying all the time. Some idiots just decided to draw some lines and group people together. It is fake. Society as a whole ebbs and flows in its values. Right now it is pretty shitty ... could get better, could get worse.
Calling it "The Greatest Generation" was just those "Generations" authors (Neil Howe and William Strauss) coming to the realization that they weren't half as good as their parents, that's all that is! I hand that to them, they were praising their 4 parents -- who lived through the Great Depression and WWII. And the people that lived through those events and built the country in the 40s, 50s and 60s WERE an amazing group of people, my grandparents were some of them!
I gotta hand it to them, they made a living off of a clever idea. It has fundamental problems, though, and creates schisms, hatred and wrong paradigms with which to view the world.
