So far they've all been wooden toys, mostly scroll sawn. I wouldn't mind working in other mediums like 3d printed plastics, but I also want him to appreciate the feel of each toy, as I find wood to be much more pleasant than plastic (especially when it's been planned glassy smooth and finished with oil and paste wax).
