This is common practice at any wrestling meet.. IF you never wrestled you would not know this.. Take a look at UFC fighters, and wrestler's ears if you dont believe me.. Ringworm is a big BIG issue for wrestlers

Keep in mind that is a wrestling mat that they are going over. Every wrestler i have ever known has gotten ringworm, ear infections and a few have even gotten staph infection. This is probably a good thing, regardless of Kung Flu. If you ever seen a wrestler that has ears that stick out far from their cheeks, there is a good chance they have contracted cauliflower ear. (Literally 50 % of UFC fighters as well) Some folks ears never go back to normal because this is so common for wrestlers and fighters.
You're right about the rest, but cauliflower ear isn't something you catch, it comes from trauma.
