"Hey y'all! I ran into an issue I had never considered recently; I introduced a topic in a game that I didn't think was problematic, but it was very problematic to a player. Obviously the LAST thing I want to do is make anyone uncomfortable, so I removed the topic entirely.
But that got me thinking about consent in gaming. Most players are generally okay with most themes, as long as they aren't taboo. I personally have accidentally offended a player a year ago by mentioning cocaine use.
So, I did some digging and found a handy form to use!
It hits broad strokes about certain topics and how a player would feel introducing them in the game. It also opens possibilities for more specific topics not mentioned and even opinions on discussing such feelings.
I highly recommend presenting this to your players/DM, because D&D is supposed to escape reality, not bring uncomfortable things in."
So, was perusing Eddit with an alt account since all my other ones have either gotten nuked or are scored for wrong-think.
Found this gem in the /r/D&D sub.
