This is effing stupid...some of the most fun moments come from totally not expecting it. I play DnD and if my DM brought this up I would quit on the spot and take all of my generously donated hand painted minis with me.

Agreed. The "hand holding" in today's gaming (both RPG and Video Gaming) is just nauseating.

Conversely, I suppose a DM could use it to weed out potential players who aren't mature enough to handle the planned campaign.
