whats with all these ribbons and badges on his jacket. he gives the aura of someone who would be the first to hide under a desk when any sort of conflict occurs
You get ribbons and medals for doing literally absolutely nothing sometimes.
In the army you get a ribbon for throwing a grenade at a mandatory combat school. And its a requirement for everyone that joins. There is no getting around it, you have to do it, and its not a big deal. 'Splodin baseball not that scary. Participation trophy ribbon. Same thing for national defense ribbon. Same thing if you stay in long enough, same thing if you don't get in trouble over a certain time period.
People can be in the military for 20 years and do literally nothing and end up with a chest full of ribbons.
They get a ribbon for just being in the service during an action , war or suck a dick action you could be the fat ass in the motor pool and still get the ribbon.
Still waiting on a single troop to claim he ever served under Vindman's command. It seems to me this guy is a CIA stooge in an Army costume. It would appear he did not go through the normal Army Officer career progression steps.
You may be right about the CIA thing, there’s something incredibly off about Vindman. Two things that bother me him (not counting his testimony):
He’s soft as hell looking. In my own career as an enlisted infantryman, I have NEVER seen an infantry officer that didn’t look hard as fuck. They’re either lean and hard looking, or chubby and hard looking. They can have kind or friendly faces, but they still look hard. Vindman’s face tells his life story, he hasn’t done anything physically hard in a really, really long time
He has a Purple Heart, a CIB, but no Iraq or Afghanistan campaign medals?! He’s supposedly a 20 year infantry officer, yet he rocks a National Intelligence Meritorious Unit Citation. It’s like somebody sloppily copy-pasted what awards an infantry officer should have. I’ve interacted with 35M’s before, they’re allowed to shield their actual names and ranks from regular Army soldiers
My speculation: a younger Vindman may have branch qualified as an infantry officer (and thus allowed to wear crossed rifles, yet no blue cord, someone correct me if I’m wrong) but quickly got reclassed to MI. I’ve read that he’s a Eurasia specialist, which probably means he has language skills (either acquired from parents or by training), which would back up my guess that he’s MI, as most FAO’s come from an MI background. If he was on the NSC, he most likely had to have been at one point a FA29 Army strategist. Most likely that was Vindman’s role up until his testimony to Congress. But at one point, there is a strong likelihood that he was MI
However, there’s the possibility of him having been sheep-dipped into one the alphabet agencies. If he was MI, he would have much more respect for the chain of command, which indicates to me he’s existed outside normal military channels for a while. Probably has a huge ego but an inferiority complex (lol demanding Congress to address him by his rank), perfect material for the CIA to mold
lmao. ok it makes sense now. like i'm having a lot of trouble imagining this clown who demands everyone address him as "COLONEL VINDMAMM" did anything remotely close to combat.

Yeah but the medal for anal swabs is really impressive. It looks like a brown starburst.
