We now receive regular emails and optional meetings regarding "diversity and inclusion". We all know that this boils down to "hire more blacks because they're oppressed". I work for a technology company that is marketdly white, but from what I've been told, they always hire the most qualified candidate for the role, no matter the gender or race. That doesn't seem to be the case any more, and I have already noticed more women and minorities being hired, and as you could probably guess, they are most of the time worse at their jobs than their white male counterparts.

It is annoying to login in the morning and see emails from these "diversity advocates", but I simply ignore them. I did sign into the first meeting they had and it was a couple of black women (my department has exactly 0 black women in it) telling us how we need to be allies and things like that, you all know the deal.

Really sad to see a successful company like the one I work for go down this path. But I think they're going to get exactly what they asked for, and I predict we won't be internationally competitive in the next decade. Rant over.

Just ignore it that's what I've done, I refuse to acknowledge or engage in any way with these type of stunts, whenever you have conversations with your manager just talk about how much your life is fucked up from covid bullshit and act like you are too busy dealing with personal things to "get engaged" at work with their crap activities
