"Trust the science" everybody! He just wanted to know if she wanted to mutilate children. He cited studies, and anecdotal evidence and she did not have an answer.
She could have politely explained her stance rather than dodging the question. She could have said in her opinion the child would lead a happier life after the surgery. My wife's trans sister would have loved to hear what she had to say in response.
