Everything in the article is correct except for the crashing real estate prices. Despite everything, the cost of shelter is still incredibly high in California. Also living outside of a jobs center is not an option as the traffic is so bad you would waste a good hour driving every day each direction.

Could be. Could also caused by a chronic deficiency in building housing due to over-regulation and general hostility to new development.
