Not sure how to interpret what is the 4/5. The West and East split. There's clearly more Catholics in the Western church (aka pope in Rome) today, not sure about numbers in 1054. Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholics have a heck of a lot in common, though both have their own strengths.
I see, that's where you're getting 4/5. I guess protestants could say similar. What's it like now, 4,000,000 denominations to 1 Roman Catholic one then now and all 4,000,000 of those would claim to be the "original true church".
In all seriousness though. I have great respect for faithful Eastern Orthodox churches.
Right, they aren't apostolic. Many of them do claim to be the "real Christians" though. You and I to them just went off the rails somewhere. All while they ordain women and don't believe in the real presence.

There were 5 Holy Sees in the church.
One (Rome) split from the rest. (Constantinople, Alexandria, Antioch and Jerusalem)
Sheer numbers today are not relevant, as the others were much more heavily persecuted.

Remember, all protestant denominations are offshoots of the Roman church, and none that I'm aware of claim to be the one true church.
RCC and the Orthodox churches are all Apostolic. Protestant churches do not claim this.
