If anyone, asks you about the vaccine at work, mention that you have a right to expect privacy under HIPPA and think it is inappropriate to ask health questions in the work place (or anywhere else). Write down the time, date, and people that were part of the conversation and log it (take a picture on your phone if you write it on company paper).

No woman of child-bearing age should be taking the vax.

Well that's a personal privacy issue and not really a HIPAA issue, to be technical. But any fear addicts who buy into the China flu hoax so much to be vocal about vaccines are probably too dumb to know that. So I guess throw some FUD back into their state-loving, boot-licking faces.

It is a HIPPA issue if your reason for not getting the vaccine is due to your personal health issues. The line of inquiry is invasive and leads to someone needing to explain themselves for not getting the vaccine, which could only be done by sharing personal medical information (assuming you have issues).

It's not. And coworkers and your boss are not CEs per the law. But it is a matter of personal privacy that you don't have to disclose. Just tired of this fake "HIPAA violation" line which makes us look fucking stupid.

I didn't say anyone should sue anyone, just that they need to put the people inquiring about this on the defensive. As you stated most people don't know the law. Either way the conversation creates an uncomfortable work place for people not getting the vaccine, make it uncomfortable back!

Yeah I get it. Just want to warn people in case they use the line and one of their coworkers is a sea lawyer who knows enough to call out the HIPAA claim.

You do have a right to privacy under HIPAA,... I'm not saying asking about the vaccine is a HIPPA violation, please reread the post. All I am doing is relating that fact with it being inappropriate to discuss the vaccine with someone in the work place (inappropriate is 'self defined', not a legal term, you are setting a standard and telling someone else they are falling short of it).

I get what you are saying, I am not saying someone should make a HIPPA claim, merely state you have rights under HiPPA (a vague stmt), and that it is inappropriate to ask people at work about their health issues unless volunteered. Just a way to handle it so they back the fuck off...
