New York literally has a building where +/-700 suspended teachers go (with pay) because districts can’t fire them at a cost to the taxpayer of $75 million annually. 🤦🏼♂️
In some cases good teachers get stuck there too. For example, two punk ass kids start to fight in the hallway. You step in as a teacher to break it up. After the fight a parent alleges you were too rough, mishandled, or did something too much against their kid.
Now you're stuck in the room until your case resolves. And there are years worth of backlog cases that will get heard first.
