THEY ALL botched the first and second impeachment. Hard to believe Jerry was the fall guy for it all. I think he is still CHAIR of the Judicial Subcommittee. That has to be a complete joke.
Well the committees are mostly for show as they don't have any investigative power beyond some basic fact finding. But they can write letters of criminal referral to the DOJ. That is no guarantee that anything will happen, as you can imagine, lots of political BS gets sent over there.

My assumption would be that the Cool Kids, Pelosi, Schumer, et all, kicked him out of the club after his issue.
