this is from a friend of a friend of our family....last night, my dad talked to his a dear friend in tx. a friend of hers has a son that works for costco....said that costco is going to be bringing in armed security at their pumps. so either the price is going to go very very low, or...very very high. since it's the potatus in office, we're betting high. i have nothing to validate this, just something my trustworthy dad had heard and passed along, fwiw. spez to say: this may only be at the tx costco, may be storm related, maybe going to happen all over and tx got a heads up...or may be nothing at all. again, fwiw.
and also the smallest of chances that...there was some truth to this (or any other rumour) and didn't share? some things can be dismissed out of hand, but a few require some consideration. your theory makes sense to me.
I go past some pumping stations and they also have armed security; always have... who'd have thought having thousands upon thousands of gallons of combustible fluid would need to be so secure?

Probably confusing general armed security.
