Well Jesus's disciples initially thought they were abandoned. Peter was anointed as the rock of His church, "the gates of hell shall not prevail it," and yet after the crucifixion, he immediately denied Him three times and went back fishing. He became fully committed to the gospel after his personal encounter with the resurrected Lord and the descending of the Holy Spirit at the Pentecostal meeting. I don't know if this CPAC is the Pentecostal meeting of our MAGA church and where are our Peter and Paul, I really hope so, we'll see.
