...nothing. It would only be lost all over again. Everyone should understand that all governments are a convention we've made. It is in the same category as a religion, but one where we've set up the ground rules and requires no worship. There is no rule of nature that says common-sense principles cannot fail, or that you cannot be persuaded to go against principles you once held. The Bill of Rights will absolutely fail if you don't dislodge the notion that human rights can exist without a reference to God. It is axiomatic. Individual liberty is not a scientific law, or a math equation. When you remove God, you empower the tyrant element in all of us. This ultimately aggregates until you have a society that disdains liberty and is all about the "collective."

Even if you are a non-believer, try to appreciate the function of this thing. God, as a point of reference, simply establishes that we are all on equal footing. It requires no worship, nor establishes a religion. Human liberty and freedom under a government cannot exist any other way. Anything else is human-based, and therefore, relative (and given to the whims of whomever holds the most power).

whole last paragraph is bunk and therefore your post is meaningless

god has no power on earth, he's not going to dispense justice to murderers and rapists

Your reply makes no sense to me, and I'm not going to figure it out for you. I said nothing about God's power on the earth. I said, without the premise of God establishing equal footing, our laws and institutions are relative, where we end up beholden to the humans who hold the most political power.

It means God isn't going to come down from on high and smite your enemies for you. It's OUR job to be stewards of the physical, it's HIS job to take care of the spiritual.

You're not refuting anything I'm saying. You guys keep talking about God acting or not acting. It's besides the point.

god is not ENFORCING anything

a politician can SAY he's a man of god, and even if he's not GOD isn't going to do anything about it

he's free to put in any devil policies he wants

your "laws and institutions are relative" is always going to be that way

We're all disappointed here with what's happened to America, but losing your faith only makes you more unrecoverable. Holding to what's true is the only way back, and if you're a non-believer, I'm only offering a way to understand that discarding God in our conceptions of how our government is founded will only make things far worse. If you think you're at the hands of men now, you haven't seen anything yet. liberals are illogical and deranged sociopaths, and becoming anything like them is only going to fuel them. People have to make a u-turn on a personal level before we can right this ship it seems (if we even can). Just because we had Trump in office for a few years doesn't mean everything was swell with America, as a nation, before God. If the nation has been stripped away from us, there has to be a reason. Either we sinned, or it's the End Times, which, in either case, it's time to be in repentance.

there has to be a reason

the mistake is thinking there HAS to be a reason
