Be non-judgmental, calm, and understanding, because if you're not, some far-leftist authoritarian will pretend to be in order to groom, seduce, and eventually abduct your son or daughter.
Probably money. I despise the public schools but with 3 kids and absent a school choice voucher system I can't afford to send my kids elsewhere, nor take off work to home school them. As I see it, it will be good practice for my kids to learn to ignore brainwashing as it is attempted in school.
You are making excuses because you don't want to make sacrifices. My family of 5 lives in a 34 foot 5th wheel so my wife can stay home and we can be more than financially sound. The thing is not only do we get to homeschool our kids but before the oldest one is 10 we will own our own land straight up (should that still be allowed in the USA by then). Your kids are more important than the things you will have to sacrifice to save them.
I agree to disagree. Public school is terrible, I'll agree, but how do you know the other sacrifices you are making aren't even more harmful as far as allowing your children to fit into society and be successful?

Fit into society and be successful? Have you seen kids that have come out of most public schools in the past couple decades? Apparently you aren't paying much attention. By the way home schooling kids is not keeping them locked in a basement and never allowing them to meet other kids. It's picking the curriculum that is appropriate for them and teaching it to them yourself (all the while learning yourself) AND it's enrolling them in extracurricular activities where they will meet other kids who are doing things with their spare time rather than drugs and or rioting in the streets. To suggest that kids need to go to a brainwashing camp to learn what brainwashing is is absolute garbage reasoning. That is like suggesting that kids should shoot up heroin so that they can learn that it is bad for them.. No some things are not best learned by direct experience. Simple communication with your kids and showing examples of these things when they are old enough to understand them I would say is far more better than throwing them to the wolves so they can learn what it is like to be their food.
