I went to private school most of my life. Never once was I subjected to any sort of current events projects or lessons. We didn’t start going over current events until the 7th grade when our teacher would make us bring a newspaper clipping every Friday and summarize it for the class. All of elementary school was focused on reading writing and arithmetic. I’m a millennial

At my Catholic high school they made us watch an abortion. It was fucked up at the time but definitely powerful.
