I just got done watching a documentary where multiple young girls were getting raped at a religious school in a community where everyone knew each other. Nobody knew what has happening. You don’t know what’s happening at your child’s school no matter how big or little an issue could be. I can only chalk up your “it wouldn’t happen to me and mine” arrogance to you living a comfortable existence that leaves you ignorant and not cautious. When it comes to raising your kids, I hope you stop thinking about YOUR childhood and start understanding this isn’t the same country even if your seeing the same people. I am 21 and I’m TELLING you, unless you are physically there with your children you don’t know what’s going on and what young people are dealing with.
Well, there you have it. Your world incredibly small and disconnected from what I'm experiencing. You are less than half my age. I have grown up with every teacher in my kid's school. The science teacher was the best man at my wedding and I have known him since I was 5. The math teacher was in the grade above me k-12 and I've known her my whole life. The same type of story can be said for everyone in the school. The school is not Catholic, if that's what you're implying. The school is actually non-denominational. Keep your doubt and skepticism to yourself because you are obviously projecting what you know onto others.
So again, your thinking about yourself and what you experienced and who you know instead of your children. People like you unfortunately just have to experience horrible things to learn instead of listening to warnings. I highly suggest you self reflect on how your a little TOO comfortable and how recognizing that and adjusting will make you a better parent in a modern world. It’s 2021. You can get offended and ignore me and learn the hard way when your kids get older or you can listen to someone who sees what’s going on. Your choice.
Do you consider yourself a Millennial or a Post-Millennial? Just in case you need a chart ....Millennials: Born 1981-1996 (22-37 years old)
Post-Millennials: Born 1997-Present (0-21 years old)
