The Boston Public school system is fucked beyond belief. They suspended entrance exams for the ONE good tough school in the system (Boston Latin) to appease the woke crowd. Kids in the public school system here have no chance. I don't have children of my own, but I'm forced to pay city taxes for this garbage. I wish there was an option to divert the tax to a pool funding charter schools.
You could move. If you work a local trade, you'd be damaging them by taking it and your tax money elsewhere. If you work in a white collar industry, there is really no reason to not move to a low tax state that aligns with your ideals.
Pretty much. Let's not get started on how many millions of dollars they waste bussing kids around in the city. Started off as a good idea decades ago, but the public school system here is majority minority at this point. Rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.
All of the wealthy people in this city (and there are plenty) send their kids to private schools already, but if you are a family of lesser means with a talented kid, you're fucked.
Take a look at your recent local ballots. If it's anything like where I live, the races for school board seats are like "choose 5" from a list of 5. Get your name in there, and talk to a few people. What do you have to lose? The system you see is a reflection of the idiots running it.

Have been strongly considering it.
So all the academically gifted have to be shafted with a watery curriculum and all the trades gifted have to be bored into dropping out. Great system.
